Agribusiness, livestock production, food security and market access will dominate a series of business and policy discussions at the 116th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show. The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society has scheduled several high-level interfaces designed to connect agricultural stakeholders and address issues affecting sector growth.
The Livestock Conference will focus on building resilient livestock systems towards a $15.8 billion agricultural economy by 2030, while also addressing production and marketing challenges.
The Annual National Agribusiness Conference will focus on agricultural productivity as a catalyst for agribusiness growth and food security. The conference is scheduled for 26 August from 0800 to 1400 hours at the Andy Millar Hall in the Business Hub.
The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce will also host a discussion titled “Connecting Agri-Producers to Markets: Overcoming Barriers Through Innovation and Policy” on 25 August. The session is scheduled for the Andy Millar Hall from 0730 to 1100 hours.
The agricultural show will also host discussions on sustainable growth, research, technology, enterprise development and environmental, social and governance practices. The ZAS said the agri-produce section had attracted farmers, cooperatives and agro-processors, with entries covering grains, horticulture, oilseeds and processed foods. The 2026 focus for that section includes food safety, packaging and standards, with the organisers saying these areas are intended to enhance market access and contribute to national food security.
The show will run from 24 to 29 August under the theme “Powering Growth: Where Agriculture, Technology and Commerce Converge”, with the official opening ceremony set for 28 August.
