Advanced preparations are underway for the 116th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, with organisers targeting a major expansion in exhibitors and exhibition space for this year's event.
The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society said the show will run from Monday, 24 August to Saturday, 29 August 2026 at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society Grounds in Harare. Organisers are targeting 630 exhibitors across 89,000 square metres of exhibition space, with 350 exhibitors already confirmed by the time of the 23 July press briefing.
The confirmed exhibitors, comprising local and international companies, had already booked 66,000 square metres of exhibition space, according to the society.
The ZAS said the strong uptake reflected growing confidence in the show as a marketplace where agriculture, technology and commerce converge to power growth, create jobs and unlock investment.
Preparations also include a packed programme of business interfaces and policy dialogues covering livestock, agribusiness, markets, technology, sustainability and agricultural research.
Among the scheduled events is the Green Indaba on 24 August, followed by a Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce session on connecting agricultural producers to markets on 25 August.
The Annual National Agribusiness Conference and the AI in Agriculture Conference/Dinner are both scheduled for 26 August, while the Research for Agricultural Excellence Technology Indaba will take place on 27 August. The society has also put measures in place to improve visitor convenience, including online registration, online ticket sales, agent ticket sales, additional entry gates and expanded, more secure parking areas.
Security preparations have been strengthened through the installation and upgrading of CCTV cameras in the Business Hub, while children will again be tagged to support child safety and facilitate quick reunification if separated from their parents or guardians.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 28 August, with the society saying comprehensive preparations are underway to ensure the event maintains its high-profile status.
