GWERU, ZIMBABWE– In a move set to redefine the nation’s digital financial landscape, the upcomingZimbabwe BankTech, InsurTech, PropTech, and Digital Payments Masterclassis poised to gather the continent’s brightest minds. This high-level summit, co-located with the official digital launch of theFinTech Review.Africawebsite, focusing on the theme:“Monetizing, Scaling and Expanding BankTech, InsurTech, PropTech and Digital Payments Ecosystems in Zimbabwe.”
The Zimbabwean fintech sector is currently undergoing a radical transformation. Driven by a tech-savvy youthful population, soaring mobile penetration rates, and strategic government support, the ecosystem is moving beyond simple transactions toward sophisticated, integrated solutions. The Masterclass aims to bridge the gap between innovation and commercialization, providing a platform for industry leaders, researchers, and investors to map out the future of Zimbabwean financial technology.
A primary pillar of the event is the surgingPropTech(Property Technology) sector. Discussions will dive deep into the rise ofReal Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)and digital real estate transactions. With the introduction of "PropTech-as-a-Service," the summit will explore fractional ownership models that allow retail investors to enter the high-value real estate market for as little as USD 10. This democratization of investment is expected to be a major catalyst for urban development and wealth creation.
Innovation inBankTechandInsurTechremains equally ambitious. The Masterclass will highlight the introduction ofRoboBankingand the embedding of parametric insurance directly into digital leases. Furthermore, the event will address the shift towardAgentic AI and Autonomous Finance, where AI agents independently negotiate contracts and execute payments, and the rise ofBiometric Payment Ecosystemsthat replace traditional cards with face and palm-based authentication to combat fraud.
As part of this momentum, the organizers have issued aCall for Presentations. Academics, writers, and researchers are invited to submit a300-word synopsisfor 20-minute sessions covering critical themes such asRegulatory Sandboxes,Cyber-Resilience, andOpen Finance. These presentations will contribute to the overarching goal of identifying growth opportunities and establishing robust regulatory frameworks that facilitate cross-border startup testing between Zimbabwe and regional partners like South Africa.
The event caters to a diverse delegate profile, includingBankTech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, policymakers, andacademic researchers. By showcasing success stories and addressing systemic challenges, the Masterclass and the launch ofFinTech Review.Africawill serve as the definitive roadmap for investment and technological scaling in Zimbabwe’s burgeoning fintech economy.
