GWERU, Zimbabwe — 04 July 2026 — FinTech Review Africa, Zimbabwe’s leading FinTech media platform, successfully hosted the inaugural FinTech-Business Par Challenge at Gweru Golf Course today, bringing together leaders from BankTech, InsurTech, PropTech, HealthTech, RetailTech, Digital Payments, and Telecoms.
Speaking at the prize presentation, *Francis Bingandadi, Editor of FinTech Review Africa*, said the event was designed to unite the ecosystem around innovation and collaboration.
“Zimbabwe’s FinTech sector in 2026 is at a defining moment,” Bingandadi stated. “With one of the highest rates of digital payment adoption in Africa, FinTech is no longer a buzzword — it is infrastructure. Mobile money, agent networks, and instant payments are now part of daily life.”
He highlighted key opportunities including financial inclusion for the underbanked, SME and C&I digitization, cross-border remittances, and embedded finance across sectors. He also noted critical challenges: regulatory clarity, high cost of capital, cybersecurity risks, forex volatility, and infrastructure gaps.
“Events like today create the partnerships that turn opportunity into product,” Bingandadi added. “As FinTech Review Africa, our role is to spotlight builders, drive conversation, and hold the ecosystem accountable as we build a more inclusive digital economy.”
The tournament, played in 4BBB Stableford format, featured participation from across the FinTech ecosystem and included sponsorship and branding opportunities for industry players.
